Heli Skiing / Snow Boarding in the CaucasusDURATION: 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS in Sochi, 5 days of Heli-skiing BEST SEASON: JANUARY - MIDDLE OF MAY The town of Sochi is situated at the foot of the Caucasus mountain range on the Black Sea. It is the main seaside resort of Russia and gateway to the ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana. The area of Krasnaya Polyana begins on non-glacier terrain, and leads to a succession of wonderful slopes and bowls protected from the wind with great snow conditions, thanks to the influence of the Black sea. These conditions cannot be found anywhere else in Europe. HELICOPTERS We employ powerful twin-turbined Mi-8 MTV helicopters that also serve the Russian president on his short range trips inside Russia. These helicopters are sturdy and work very efficiently in the mountains. We rent the helicopters from a major privately owned company. All helicopters are brand new offering maximum security. The company carries out all required maintenance procedures and also exports its work outside Russia. The pilots and staff are fully qualified for mountain flights and have worked with us for many years already. SAFETY » Each participant receives an insurance from "AVICOS", one of the largest Russian Insurance companies, in addition to policies from international partners. » We work with the Russian Ministry of Extraordinary Situations (MES). Each guide has at least five -year experience of work as a heli-skiing guide/instructor and posesses all required official permissions from the MES. » Each participant receives safety instruction before taking off in the helicopter. » Each guide has a radio connection with the other guides, the helicopter, the lifting company and the local mobile MES rescue team. The guides have all first aid equipment in their backpacks at all times. » Each participant is equipped with AVD, the avalanche resque system. Theoretical instruction and training in the snow is provided for each group. SKIING CONDITIONS: The number of persons in the group ranges from 8 to 14. The group is accompanied by 2 or 3 professional guides\instructors. The altitude drop on one ride ranges from 800 to 1100 meters. The average number of heli-rides per day is five. Each heli-ride lasts from 40 to 60 minutes on average. Day 1 Departure from any city of the world to Moscow. One night in Moscow. Accommodation in a 4-star "Cosmos" hotel. Day 2 Departure from Moscow at 11:25 via Aeroflot's SU 773 flight. Arrival to Sochi at 13:40. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to Krasnaya Polyana resort (45 km, 1 hour ride). Accommodation in "4 peaks" club-hotel (additional option: Radisson SAS Lazurnaya hotel). Day 3-7 5 days of heli skiing or snowboarding Day 8 Transfer from Krasnaya Polyana to Sochi. Departure for Moscow at 15:10 via SU734 flight. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS "Four Peaks" club-hotel is located in Esto-Sadok village 3,5 km from Krasnaya Polyana resort. There is a restaurant in the hotel. The average dinner costs USD 12 per person. You can use a gym, a laundry, a cinema, a pool room, a sauna and a Russian Banja with 2 swimming pools. Available activities include horse-back riding, paraplane sky diving, snow-mobile riding.
